Ballet
Ages: 7+
Adult Ballet is the foundation for all forms of dance. Our ballet program is designed to provide dancers with a solid foundation of training technique. Classes work toward a stronger dancer, using correct body placement, and focusing on musicality, flexibility, coordination, and performance skills. Barre, center and floor work are combined with unique choreography in class. A strong emphasis is also placed on correct usage of ballet terminology. Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Semi-Advanced, Advanced, Beginner/intermediate Teen/Adult, Advanced Adult
Baton
Ages: 6+
NEW! Baton twirling is an excellent way of developing hand-eye coordination, rhythm, timing, poise and gracefulness, endurance, self-discipline, and overall total body coordination. Classes involve all aspects of baton twirling from fundamental tricks to advanced competitive combinations. Basic dance skills are also included in all baton twirling classes.
Combination Classes
Ages: 3-7
Combination Classes introduces the foundations for ballet, tap and tumbling in a controlled, fun and stress-free environment. The creative movement enhances the development of fine and gross motor skills for children as they run, skip, leap, stretch, and dance to the music. Social skills are developed as students interact and learn to work together. Students are gently introduced to a structured environment while still allowing them to explore and create. Each level builds on the one before, and allows each child to learn at their own speed. Combo 4, in addition to covering ballet, tap and tumbling, adds jazz introduction into the curriculum. Combo 3+ is a special hour and a half class that goes in depth and includes a whole half hour of tumbling, as well as and hour of ballet and tap. Combo 4+ is a special hour and a half class that covers ballet, tap, jazz, and tumbling as well as beginner hip-hop. Levels: Combo 1 (Ages 2-3), Combo. 2 (Ages 4-5), Combo 3 (Ages 5-6), Combo 4 (Ages 6-7)
Contemporary
Ages: 10+ or in 2nd year of Ballet
Contemporary Dance (formerly titled ‘modern’) is a unique form of dance, blending techniques, taught through stretching, center and floor work combinations, traveling progressions and choreography. Artistry and performance, as well as mental alertness and observation skills, are emphasized. Space, time, and energy are explored as elements of movement. Contemporary is a fusion of modern, jazz and ballet/lyrical techniques. Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Dance with Me (Mommy & Me)
Ages: 6 months-2 years
Dance with Me is a caregiver/child class, introducing children to creative movement, enhancing the development of motor skills for children as they run, skip, leap, stretch, and dance to the music- all with mom or dad! Basic skills are developed as students interact in new environments and learn to listen, follow and express.
Dancing with Baby
Ages: 7+ weeks
Get back into the groove with this aerobic carrier class for mom and baby too!
Hip-Hop
Ages: 7+
Hip-hop dance refers to social or choreographed dance styles primarily danced to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. Our classes combine jazz and a wide range of styles, notably breaking, locking, and popping to today’s hit music to create a fun and expressive dance class.
Hip Hop dancers are required to take jazz in order to lay a foundation and improve understanding of dance style and technique. Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Semi-Advanced, Advanced, Beginner/Intermediate Teen
Jazz
Ages: 7+
Jazz has developed parallel to jazz music and pop-culture. Our jazz classes incorporate and work on coordination, flexibility and rhythm. Isolations, stretches, progressions, technique and combinations are the focus of our jazz classes, a fusion of classical and modern jazz, as well as jazz funk. Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Semi-Advanced, Advanced, Beginner/Intermediate Teen and Adult
Pointe
By invitation only
Pointe work is an extension of ballet, which special shoes are worn to allow dancers to dance on the tips of their toes. Years of preparation and technique work are needed in order to prepare and strengthen the dancer for Pointe work without injury. Once a dancer is En Pointe, classes work on barré, center and floor training as well as keeping the dancer’s well-being in mind, educating them on injury prevention.
Tap
Ages: 7+
Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one’s tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. Our classes are a fusion of rhythm and Broadway tap. Emphasis is put on developing clear sounds and foot articulation. Levels: Beginner, Intermediate/Teen, Semi-Advanced, Advanced, Adult
Tumbling (Acrobatics)
Ages: 4+
Due to COVID our tumbling class sizes have been limited- more so than our other classes.
Tumbling (Acrobatics) is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. Students will study and train in all forms of tumbling, and will work on flexibility, endurance, and strength. Students work on the basic skills such as forward rolls and cartwheels and progress to highly skilled acro. tricks such as back handsprings and tucks, according to each individual’s strength and ability.
